The best laid plans

It was the 50th birthday party that didn’t happen.

Well, not as planned.

I flew to Cincinnati today to attend a surprise party for my best friend from college.  Her family had gone all out, and she was totally in the dark.

Then the weather dumped its own surprise on us — ice and snow that made the roads too dangerous.

So we had to reschedule the party for Saturday and let her in on it.

Poop.

A smaller group of us ended up at her next door neighbors house tonight for an impromptu dinner, which was loads of fun…so really, she is getting TWO parties.
